Anaheim Ducks re-sign Max Comtois, Josh Mahura, Max Jones

ANAHEIM, Calif. The Anaheim Ducks have given up on defender Josh Mahura, leaving the wings of Max Comtois and Max Jones.
Comtois received a two-year contract until the 2022 season23 and Jones signed a three-year contract until 2024. Mahura’s contract lasts for two years, and it is only a two-year contract for the next season.
Comtois was the top scorer for the lowest-scoring team in the NHL last season, scoring 16 goals and 33 points in 55 games for the Ducks. The 22-year-old forward was the second-youngest player to lead Anaheim, behind 20-year-old Paul Kariya, in the 199495 seasons.
Comtois also scored six points for Canada’s title-winning team at the IIHF World Cup in June.
Jones scored 11 points for the Ducks in 46 games last season, and his slightly disappointing hitting numbers mirror almost the entirety of Anaheim’s shortest roster. A first-round pick in 2016, the 23-year-old Jones remains an important part of the Ducks’ young core.
Mahura had four points from 13 games for Anaheim last year. He spent most of the season as one of the AHL’s top scorers among defenders while playing for the Ducks’ main partner in San Diego.
