Since the Adidas Reverse Retro jerseys debuted this year, there has been a lot of talk about past NHL Uniform, so I decided to rank the top 10 NHL uniform of all time.

Here in Buffalo, we’ve had some of the best and worst uniforms that the league has ever seen. The ’80s and ’90s seem to be a common thread of consistency when going through each team’s uniforms. I’d go as far as to say that if I asked you to name any team from the ’90s, the unoform they wore would rank right at the top of their club’s history of sweaters. Regardless, here are my top 10 NHL uniform of all time.

10. Florida Panthers (1993-2007)

The red Florida Panthers jerseys are too clean. Gorgeous shoulder patches and an overall color scheme perfect for highlighting the logo. Florida would wear them during the 1996 campaign, where they won the convention final before being swept away by the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup final.

9. Phoenix Coyotes (1996-2003)

The “Kachina” jackal is a big step forward in innovation with the NHL jersey, showcasing the colors of the Southwest and paying homage to the history of the region. These jerseys still seem to be as popular and eye-catching with fans today as the 1996 jerseys.

8. Vancouver Canucks (1989-1997)

Vancouver chose these mostly black jerseys after years of having very large ugly orange stripes around the arms and waist in the same configuration. These jerseys will be a big change for the team no matter how small the change may be.

7. St. Louis Blues (1995-1998)

While St. Louis introduced that red to their uniform and added Wayne Gretzky to the roster, the only downside of the 199596 season would be if Wayne hit the 100-point plateau for the last time, 81 of his 102 points in this year. season with the Kings before he traded in St. Louis.

6. Minnesota North Stars (1978-1988)

Anaheim’s Mighty Ducks is just an absolute classic. The nostalgia for these swimsuits and the animated/cinema series is huge. Not to mention you have people like Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne lighting the lights. After their first nine seasons, the Ducks had only one playoff win in the Western Conference. That 10th year, they lost the Stanley Cup to the Devils, but had another shot in 200607 against the Senators and eventually lifted Lord Stanley for the first time.

4. Calgary Flames (1980-1994, 2009-2013, 2016-2017)

The red-orange color of these Calgary sweaters is so pretty, just take it home and have it. I mean, come on. This is one of the most memorable shirt numbers in tournament history. Tell me the swimsuits don’t look good in this Theo Fleury clip.

3. Los Angeles Kings (1967-1980, 2010-2014)

These purple and yellow threads absolutely dance across the ice. Brings back the original sons for which the likes of Marcel Dionne are famous, having scored 50 goalscoring seasons in 5/12 years in the City of Angels. Not bad.

2. Buffalo Sabres (1983-1996)

Royal blue and gold can be one of the more affordable looks in the NHL, especially when you have such a talented roster. Although Sabers have never won a Cup in these jerseys, these jerseys are among the most coveted in the franchise. Buffalo fans have been yearning for the return of royal blue, and an updated version of the style has debuted for the 2020 season. 21 Despite the turmoil in Buffalo, having a less aesthetically pleasing team is also a plus. Just a small win.

1. Detroit Red Wings (1984 – Present)

The Red Wings jerseys are the most legendary and memorable in tournament history. Detroit really takes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” to a whole new level. Wearing the same colors for nearly 40 years, winning 5 Stanley Cups, 6 Conference Championships, and 6 Presidential titles, these jerseys have established themselves as the best jerseys of all time.
