New Jersey Devils rookie forward was removed from Injured Reserve list
New Jersey Devils forward Tyce Thompson was activated from injured reserve and assigned to Utica of the American Hockey League.
Thompson has been training with his teammates for the past three days. He has been out for two weeks with an undisclosed injury. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound forward appeared in a preseason game and scored a goal against the NY Rangers on October 1.
Thompson, the Devils’ fourth-round pick (96 total) in 2019, played seven NHL games with New Jersey in the 2020-21 season and provided one assist. With AHL’s Binghamton he scored two goals and four points.
Thompson, who signed for New Jersey last spring, played three seasons of college hockey for Providence College, scoring a total of 11 goals and 25 points in 25 games in his final college season last year.
